Disclaimer

HomeBillLab provides general information and calculation tools for understanding household energy use and possible running costs.

Estimates are not guaranteed outcomes

Calculator results are estimates based on the inputs and assumptions shown with the tool. Actual electricity use, bills, savings and equipment performance may be lower or higher than an estimate.

Tariffs and bills

Electricity prices and tariff structures vary by plan, location and time. Where possible, use the relevant variable usage rate from your own bill and check whether time-of-use or other tariff conditions apply. Fixed household supply charges should not automatically be attributed to a single appliance.

Products, labels and buildings

Product ratings, Energy Rating Label figures and manufacturer specifications can support comparisons, but real-world performance can vary with climate, installation, maintenance, settings, building characteristics and household behaviour.

Rebates and government programs

Rebates, incentives and government programs are time-sensitive and may have location, eligibility, provider or funding conditions. Always confirm current details with the relevant official program source before making a financial or purchasing decision.

Not professional advice

HomeBillLab is not a substitute for professional electrical, engineering, building, financial or legal advice. Property-specific or regulated work should be assessed by an appropriately qualified person where required.

External sources

We aim to use reliable sources and explain important assumptions. External websites and source material can change after a HomeBillLab page is reviewed, so check current official information when it is material to your decision.
