Use these calculators to turn your own rates, usage and equipment data into practical running-cost estimates. Each tool keeps the core inputs visible and treats national or state averages as context rather than as a substitute for your utility bill.
U.S. home energy calculators
Electricity Bill Calculator
Estimate a bill using single/blended pricing or time-of-use pricing, with optional delivery, fixed and adjustment fields.
Appliance Running Cost Calculator
Use wattage and runtime, annual kWh, or kWh per cycle to estimate appliance electricity use and cost.
Air Conditioner Running Cost Calculator
Estimate cooling costs from known electrical input, room-AC BTU/h plus CEER, or annual kWh.
Heating Running Cost Calculator
Compare electric resistance heat, a heat-pump scenario using COP, and a natural-gas furnace scenario.
Hot Water Running Cost Calculator
Estimate hot-water cost from gallons and temperature rise or use annual electricity or natural-gas data.
What the results mean
These tools are scenario calculators, not utility quotes. Results can change when rates, weather, equipment controls, duty cycles, standby losses or household behavior differ from the values entered. For variable-speed or cycling equipment, a nameplate power value may not represent average operation; where annual tested energy data is available, it can be a useful alternative input.
For appliance and equipment comparisons, keep the same rate and usage assumptions across the options you compare. That makes the difference in the result easier to interpret.
